Circle Furniture started out selling unfinished furniture more than 50 years ago and has always had an appreciation for REAL wood. In fact, circle was a Founding Member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council and has now reached Silver Level Exemplary Membership — well done, Circle!
As Circle Furniture’s popularity grew, the company sought out local craftsmen in New England. Circle Furniture prides itself on being a socially responsible company, and maintains close ties with its vendors and craftsmen to remain as involved in the production process as possible.
By formalizing their policy and pushing for change among colleagues and competitors, Circle is turning up the volume on the conversation on sustainability.
Circle seeks out quality vendors who share its commitment and responsibility. At times, this means planning for a little more time for delivery, but knowing the product is made responsibly from sustainable materials makes it worth the wait. Circle shares its message with clients and employees, and stands behind its products and policies with pride.
Circle Furniture was featured in an episode of This Old House. The quality materials and workmanship that Circle seeks fit right into historic restoration, sometimes called “the ultimate recycling.” Circle Furniture is perfectly at home in any era.
Before the internet, Circle kept a GREEN BOOK in each store, with stories of the vendors and how the furniture was crafted, including water based finishes and solid woods and veneers. Today that information is readily available online. Circle attaches SFC information and Made in New England tags to products in the stores. It educates employees on the value of wood products and runs field trips to visit the factories in person.
Circle works hard to be a good corporate citizen by staying socially and environmentally responsible. Folks at Circle always look to source products that they fully trust.
